Summary |
The conductor Marek Janowski, a strong and demanding personality, as portrayed by the movie director Benjamin Bleton. Born in 1939, Marek Janowski had an international artistic career. Though he made his debuts in Freiburg and Dortmund, Marek Janowski was soon invited to take the lead of Major orchestras abroad. In 1984 he moved to Paris where he became the music director of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. In 2000, he served as principal conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, and later on he worked in Switzerland (as artistic and music director of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande) and in the United States (at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra). On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Benjamin Bleton draws the portrait of Marek Janowski through interviews with the maestro and with musiciens of the orchestra. |
