Summary 'Poetry or Bust' is about a 19th century Yorkshire woolsorter and poet John Nicholson, who wrote about the exploited children in the factories of Leeds and Bradford, then was bribed by attention and money to become more pastoral and pleasing to his aristocratic patrons. The play was first performed at Salts Mill, Saltaire, in September 1993.
