Summary This film demonstrates how the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra brings its unique management model to the business world. This unbiased documentary demonstrates how the "Orpheus Process" works and how it is understood and applied from the classroom to the corporate boardroom. The film features the Orpheus Process in action during workshops and lectures, rehearsals, and performances. Additional interviews with the people involved provides viewers insight into the process. Developed by founding members of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Orpheus Process is built on the principles of individual responsibility, shared leadership, and workplace democracy, and it has enabled Orpheus to achieve the highest level of innovative creativity and sustained artistic excellence for three decades. Within the last two years, progressive leaders are finding the principles of the Orpheus Process a key tool to unleashing the talent, vision, creativity, and leadership potential of the members of their teams. As a result, the corporate world has become very interested in the Orpheus Process as a model for new management strategies. Orpheus is internationally renowned as one of the world's great orchestras. In addition to the critical acclaim for its live appearances, the orchestra has received numerous awards, including a 2001 Grammy Award for "Shadow Dances: Stravinsky Miniatures;" three 1999 Grammy Awards for its jazz-inspired Ravel and Gershwin collaboration with Herbie Hancock; a 1998 Grammy nomination for its recording of Mozart piano concertos with Richard Goode; and the 1998 "Ensemble of the Year" award by Musical America.
