Summary |
Under Andrey Boreyko's baton, the Orchestre de Paris performs a 100% Western European program, from Lutosławski's Poland to Tchaikovsky's Russia. By Lutosławski, we hear the Concerto for orchestra conducted by Andrey Boreyko, a specialist of 20th-century musics. Composed in the 1950s after those by Hindemith (1925), Kodály (1939) and Bartók (1943), this 3-movement "concerto for orchestra" was partly composed after famous Polish folk music themes. The orchestra then closes the concert with Tchaikovsky's Suite for orchestra No. 3, written between the composer's fourth and fifth symphonies. The broadcast of the concert is sponsored by BMW, the official sponsor of the Cercle de l'Orchestre de Paris. |
