| Summary |
In his recital at the Verbier Festival in 2008, young Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz performs in a virtuoso and delicate way works by Bach, Liszt and Chopin. Aged only 23, Rafał Blechacz is a revelation among the young generation of pianists: indeed he was awarded in 2005 not only the first prize but also all the special prizes of the 15th Frédéric Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. Following this victory, he developed a wonderful career in some of the most prestigious venues in the world: Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Avery Fisher Hall in New York, La Scala in Milan, Suntory Hall in Tokyo ... Sometimes appearing like a poet of musical phrasings, sometimes like a magician revealing an incredible technical mastery of scores highly difficult, Rafal Blechacz gives a very personal performance of Liszt's Études and of Chopin's Mazurkas and Piano Sonata No. 3 in B Minor, Op. 58. |
