We are grateful to the Academy of Finland for providing us with this opportunity to pursue research. We started the project with the aim of examining contestation and innovation in multilingual minority language sites. Our initial premise, based on our own and others' previous research, was that language boundaries can show both fixity and fluidity, and that the negotiability of such boundaries can be studied empirically as an emergent property of discourse and social interaction. We have brought this perspective to bear not only on the tensions that arise from complex and changing multilingual processes, practices and experiences in Sami, Corsican, Irish, and Welsh language contexts, but also on the creative acts and activities that are an important part of dealing with these tensions in the four research sites"--|cProvided by publisher. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Linguistic minorities|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85077218|xSocial aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh00002758 650 0 Linguistic minorities|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85077218|vCross-cultural studies.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001526 650 0 Multilingualism|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85088352|vCross-cultural studies.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001526 650 0 Sociolinguistics.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh85124195 650 0 Ethnology.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85045198 650 0 Linguistic geography.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85077216 650 7 Linguistic minorities.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /999178 650 7 Social aspects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1354981 650 7 Multilingualism.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1028907 650 7 Sociolinguistics.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1123847 650 7 LANGUAGE ARTS & DISCIPLINES|xLinguistics|xGeneral. |2bisacsh 650 7 POLITICAL SCIENCE|xPublic Policy|xCultural Policy. |2bisacsh 650 7 Ethnology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/916106 650 7 SOCIAL SCIENCE|xAnthropology|xCultural.|2bisacsh 650 7 Linguistic geography.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 999171 650 7 SOCIAL SCIENCE|xPopular Culture.|2bisacsh 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Cross-cultural studies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1423769 700 1 Kelly-Holmes, Helen,|d1968-|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n95096901|eauthor. 700 1 Jaffe, Alexandra M.|q(Alexandra Mystra),|d1960-|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no91014523|eauthor. 700 1 Coupland, Nikolas,|d1950-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n88026902|eauthor. 776 08 |iPrint version:|z9781107123885|z1107123887|w(DLC) 2016009594|w(OCoLC)949922747 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1362663|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
