Summary |
This documentary tells the story of the Queen Elisabeth International Competition and its historical moments. Created by the Queen Elisabeth and thanks to Eugène Ysaÿe, the Queen Elisabeth International Competition helps young performers under 30 years old to make a name for themselves. Indeed, the laureates of this prestigious competition often encounter great success and enjoy and international career. The quality of its jury (made up of famous interpreters and pedagogues) make it one of the most important competitions in the world, for the violinists, pianists, singers and composers. This documentary gathers interviews and archive material from the famous laureates (Leonid Kogan, Vadim Repin, Jaime Laredo, Gidon Kremer, Leon Fleisher, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Lazar Berman, Pierre-Alain Volondat, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Nikolaj Znaider...). It is a beautiful tribute to the institution created by the Queen Elisabeth. |
