It pays particular attention to English history writing in Late Modern English as compiled in the Corpus of History English Texts (CHET), a newly released subcorpus of the Coruña Corpus of English Scientific Writing. The chapters cover methodological issues, the period and the status of discipline itself, as well as pilot studies for the description of scientific discourse using CHET. They embrace topics in several linguistic fields: discourse analysis, syntax, semantics, morphosyntax. The studies take into account extralinguistic parameters of texts, such as year of publication, sex of the author, geographical provenance of authors and the communicative formats/genres to which the text sample belongs. In the particular case of CHET, the collected samples can be grouped in eight different categories and such categories, as well as the above-mentioned metadata information, can be used to search the corpus. The Corpus of History English Texts (CHET), accompanied by the Coruña Corpus Tool (CCT) purpose-designed software by IrLab, is accessible online at the Repositorio Universidade Coruña at http://hdl.handle.net/2183/21849"--|cProvided by publisher. 588 0 Online resource; title from digital title page (viewed on November 08, 2019). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 630 00 Corpus of History English Texts (Online database)|0https:/ /id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n2019061087 648 7 18th century|2fast 648 7 19th century|2fast 648 7 1700-1899|2fast 650 0 Historiography|zGreat Britain|xHistory|y18th century. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009126423 650 0 Historiography|zGreat Britain|xHistory|y19th century. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008121721 650 0 Literature and history|zGreat Britain|xHistory|y18th century.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2009129896 650 0 Literature and history|zGreat Britain|xHistory|y19th century.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2009129898 650 0 English language|xHistory|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85043579|y18th century.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002012474 650 0 English language|xHistory|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85043579|y19th century.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002012475 650 7 Historiography.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958221 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 Literature and history.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1000077 650 7 English language.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 910920 651 7 Great Britain.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204623 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 700 1 Moskowich, Isabel,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2012027269|eeditor. 700 1 Crespo García, Begoña,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no00017973|eeditor. 700 1 Puente-Castelo, Luis Miguel,|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2019060681|eeditor. 700 1 Monaco, Leida Maria,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n2019060682|eeditor. 710 2 Universidade da Coruña,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n93116712|eissuing body. 776 08 |iPrint version:|tWriting history in Late Modern English. |dAmsterdam ; Philadelphia : John Benjamins Publishing Company, 2019|z9789027204240|w(DLC) 2019027979 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=2294299|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
