Summary |
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Montpellier dance festival, this documentary goes back on the evolution of the practice of dance in this city, which is crucial to the evolution of dance at national level. It was in this Southern France town that the first Centre Chorégraphique Nationale was founded, aiming at moving the creation and diffusion of the choreographers and dancers away from Paris. The former Théâtre de Montpellier became the Centre Chorégraphique, directed by Dominique Bagouet, who is also the initiator and first artistic director of the festival. This documentary juxtaposes archive images of performance and interviews of the actors of the previous editions of a festival which is on the forefront of the contemporary dance stage. |
