ICT for regional trade and integration in Africa. 520 3 In support of progress towards regional integration in Africa, the Economic Commission for Africa, African Union Commission and African Development Bank jointly produce Assessing Regional Integration in Africa (ARIA). The first edition (ARIA I), published in 2004, provided a comprehensive assessment of the status of regional integration in Africa, with subsequent editions focusing on thematic areas. Thus ARIA II examined the rationalization of regional economic communities and their overlapping memberships. ARIA III addressed macroeconomic policy convergence, as well as monetary and financial integration in the regional economic communities. ARIA IV focused on enhancing intra-African trade. ARIA V provided analytical research and empirical evidence to support the establishment of the Continental Free Trade Area and the benefits that African countries stand to gain from it. ARIA VI, "Harmonizing policies to transform the trading environment", carries forward the momentum of January 2012's decision and declaration by addressing the issue of harmonizing rules of origin and trade facilitation to ease Continental Free Trade Area negotiations by member States. The report starts with a brief overview of progress in regional integration, followed by discussions on the harmonization of three key prerequisites to pave the way for a meaningful continental market - rules of origin, trade facilitation instruments and cross-border linkages for information and communications technology. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 648 7 21st century|2fast 650 0 Foreign trade promotion|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85050527|zAfrica.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85001531-781 650 0 African cooperation.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85001718 650 7 Foreign trade promotion.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/931901 650 7 Commercial policy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 869569 650 7 Economic conditions.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1919582 650 7 African cooperation.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 799753 651 0 Africa|xEconomic integration.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2007100873 651 0 Africa|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85001531 |xCommercial policy.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005264 651 0 Africa|xEconomic conditions|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85001548|y21st century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002012478 651 7 Africa.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1239509 655 4 Electronic books. 710 2 United Nations.|bEconomic Commission for Africa,|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79131061|eissuing body. 710 2 African Union.|bCommission,|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2006200251|eissuing body. 710 2 African Development Bank,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n80119778|eissuing body. 776 08 |iPrint version:|tHarmonizing policies to transform the trading environment|z9789211251210|w(DLC) 2013496350 |w(OCoLC)866621898 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=857657|zOnline eBook.
