All too often, limitations of state capacity and political will intertwine hindering enforcement. Why do states enforce regulations in some places, and in some industries, but not in others? In Politicized Enforcement in Argentina, Amengual develops a framework for analyzing enforcement in middle-income and developing countries, showing how informal linkages between state officials and groups within society allow officials to gain the operational resources and political support necessary for enforcement. This analysis builds on state-society approaches in comparative politics, but in contrast to theories that emphasize state autonomy, it focuses on key differences in the way states are porous to political influence. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Administrative agencies|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85000901|zArgentina.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79070134-781 650 0 Environmental agencies|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99005912|zArgentina.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n79070134-781 650 0 Labor laws and legislation|zArgentina.|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/subjects/sh2008106378 650 0 Labor policy|zArgentina.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2009128154 650 0 Environmental law|zArgentina.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008119740 650 0 Environmental policy|zArgentina|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2009103322|xCitizen participation. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99005035 650 0 Industrial laws and legislation|zArgentina.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009126990 650 0 Industrial policy|zArgentina.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008104512 650 7 Administrative agencies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/796723 650 7 Environmental agencies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/912852 650 7 Labor laws and legislation.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/989967 650 7 Labor policy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/990116 650 7 Environmental law.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 913122 650 7 Environmental policy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 913250 650 7 Political participation.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1069386 650 7 Industrial laws and legislation.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/971186 650 7 BUSINESS & ECONOMICS|xLabor.|2bisacsh 650 7 Industrial policy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 971433 650 7 POLITICAL SCIENCE|xLabor & Industrial Relations.|2bisacsh 650 7 Environmental policy|xCitizen participation.|2fast|0https: //id.worldcat.org/fast/913256 651 7 Argentina.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1205614 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|z9781107135833 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1105187|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
