Using endnotes to open the text, Regis Armstrong opens each chapter from the perspective of historical theology referring the reader to authors prior to Bonaventure, e.g. Augustine, the Victorines, Philip the Chancellor, Avicenna, as well as first-and-second- generation Franciscan authors. While maintaining Bonaventure's architectonic approach, Armstrong studies each chapter as Bonaventure does by focusing on its unique character, e.g. by means of cosmology, epistemology, biblical theology, mystical theology. In a same way, the translator attempts to explain his translation of certain cognates into Anglo-Saxon English by citing contemporary linguistic tools, e.g., Brepolis Latin Texts. 546 In English and Latin. 588 Description based on print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 610 20 Catholic Church|xDoctrines.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85021103 610 26 Église catholique|xDoctrines. 610 27 Catholic Church.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 531720 610 27 Catholic Church|xDoctrines.|2nli 648 7 Early works to 1800|2fast 648 7 600-1500|2fast 650 0 Mysticism|xCatholic Church|vEarly works to 1800.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2010103016 650 0 God (Christianity)|xHistory of doctrines|yMiddle Ages, 600 -1500|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85055527 |vEarly works to 1800.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99001366 650 7 Mysticism|xCatholic Church.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/1751754 650 7 Theology, Doctrinal.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1149617 650 7 God (Christianity)|xHistory of doctrines|xMiddle Ages. |2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1905771 650 7 Mysticism|xCatholic Church|vEarly works to 1800.|2nli 650 7 God (Christianity)|xHistory of doctrines|yMiddle Ages, 600 -1500.|2nli 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Early works.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411636 700 1 Armstrong, Regis J.,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n83027241|eeditor. 700 02 Bonaventure,|cSaint, Cardinal,|dapproximately 1217-1274. |tItinerarium mentis in Deum.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n92116651 700 02 Bonaventure,|cSaint, Cardinal,|dapproximately 1217-1274. |tItinerarium mentis in Deum.|lEnglish.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n92116486 710 2 Project Muse,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n96089174|edistributor. 830 0 Book collections on Project MUSE. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=3160559|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
