This publication assesses the conceptual foundations, assumptions, and implications of using learning outcomes for the purposes of postsecondary credit transfer and student mobility. Through a critical review of current approaches to the use of learning outcomes across national and international jurisdictions, scholars and practitioners in postsecondary education provide a multivalent examination of their potential impacts in the unique context of Ontario and recommend future directions for the system. The collected works are the culmination of a multi-year study entitled Learning Outcomes for Transfer (LOFT), funded by the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT). Contributions are authored by prominent international scholars across countries with significant outcomes-based experiences and education reforms (South Africa, the United States, Australia, Europe, and the United Kingdom) and an Ontario research consortium comprising college and university experts working to advance student pathways."-- |cProvided by publisher. 530 Issued also in print format. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Students, Transfer of.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85129323 650 0 School credits.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85118308 650 0 Competency-based education.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85029331 650 7 Students, Transfer of.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1136207 650 7 School credits.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1107272 650 7 Competency-based education.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/871437 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Arnold, Christine,|d1985-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no2020104097|eeditor. 700 1 Wilson, Mary,|d1967-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /no2020104098|eeditor. 700 1 Bridge, Jean,|d1949-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /no2020104100|eeditor. 700 1 Lennon, Mary Catharine,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2013021181|eeditor. 776 08 |iPrint version:|tLearning outcomes, academic credit, and student mobility.|dMontréal ; Kingston ; London ; Ithaca : McGill-Queen's University Press, 2020|z1553395549 |z9781553395546|w(OCoLC)1142508902 830 0 Queen's policy studies.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/no99065776 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=2667342|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
