Summary Looking for me : Produced in 1968, movement and dance therapist Janet Adler works with autistic children, normal children, and adults, illustrating that movement experience and awareness of one's body are essential for healthy growth. In part, the film captured a series of ongoing sessions between Janet and two autistic girls, agest two and five. As Janet mirrors their gestures, the children gradually develop trust in her, shifting out of their profound isolation.
Still looking: Movement and dance therapist Janet Adler conducts a group therapy session with eight other women employing the technique she calls "authentic movement, an embodied awareness practice with roots in dance, somatic healing practices, and mysticism. The aim of the therapy is self-awareness through witnessed movement which leads to integration of body and spirit. Filmed on location in 1989 at the Old Creamery, Bodega, California.
