Summary |
The cellist Sol Gabetta performs Haydn's Cello concerto in C Major, Hob. VIIb: 1 and works by the Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. Born in Argentina, the cellist Sol Gabetta has aquired an international fame in 2004 when she won the prestigious Credit Suisse Young Artist Award. Since then, she has appeared on the most famous musical stages to perform a personal repertoire made of classical-period works and contemporary scores, as shows this exceptionnal concert which combines Haydn's Cello concerto in C Major, Hob. VIIb: 1 and works composed by the politically committed Latvian composer Peteris Vasks, whose work has received the Herder Prize in 1996. |
