A central component of this effort involves the ability to dispense antibiotics and other life-saving medical countermeasures to large populations under short timelines. This report presents recommended standards for points of dispensing (or PODs), locations where the public would receive life- saving antibiotics or other medical countermeasures during a large-scale public health emergency. The standards, which are designed to apply to widely divergent jurisdictions, rely on expert panel evaluations, current POD planning practices, and computer-modeled scenarios. 590 JSTOR|bBooks at JSTOR Open Access 610 10 United States.|tPandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2007027992 650 0 Epidemics|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85044370|zUnited States.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n78095330-781 650 0 Emergency management|zUnited States.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008102968 650 0 Antibiotics.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85005638 650 7 Epidemics.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/914079 650 7 Emergency management.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 908500 650 7 Antibiotics.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/810420 651 2 United States.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D014481 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 0 Electronic books. 655 2 Statistics.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D020500 655 2 Technical Report.|0https://id.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/D016427 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Technical reports.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2015026093 655 7 Technical reports.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1941336 700 1 Nelson, Christopher D.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n94015559 710 2 RAND Health.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2001145525 710 2 Center for Domestic and International Health Security. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2008036972 710 1 United States.|bDepartment of Health and Human Services. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n80102594 830 0 Technical report (Rand Corporation)|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2005069635 856 40 |uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.7249/tr553dhhs|zOnline eBook.
