Examining the construction of race in works by Italian authors since national unification (Deledda, Serao, Ginzburg and Ghermandi), the book finds certain elements to be common in both racial and narrative formations. These include intertextuality; characterization, plot, and tropes; the tension between the projections of identity as individual, group, and universal; and the processes of identification and otherness. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Italian literature|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85068816|xWomen authors|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002005435|xHistory and criticism. |0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99001187 650 0 Race in literature.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh94008443 650 0 Narration (Rhetoric)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85089833 650 7 Italian literature|xWomen authors.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/980697 650 7 Italian literature.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 980660 650 7 Race in literature.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1086506 650 7 Narration (Rhetoric)|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1032927 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1411635 776 08 |iPrint version:|aCoburn, Melissa, 1971-|tRace and narrative in Italian women's writing since unification. |dMadison : Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 2013 |z9781611475999|w(DLC) 2013013820|w(OCoLC)842316312 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=609470|zOnline eBook.
