A substantial body of literature is focused on teachers' assessment literacy or teachers' capacity in assessment, and teachers' continuing professional development in assessment. As we approach the third decade of the 21st century, developing teachers' assessment literacy needs to be more responsive to the need of both preservice and inservice teachers who come from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. The authors concur that both preservice and inservice teachers in today's complex educational contexts require a deeper level of understanding of assessment. Additionally, teachers are highly encouraged to appreciate the history of educational assessment in different sociocultural and political contexts, as well as to know how to determine the merits of a range of assessment practices best suited for their lesson planning and classroom teaching. In this book, the authors discuss significant aspects of developing teachers' assessment literacy in different sociocultural and political contexts. Based on their respective educational backgrounds, academic experiences, and applied fields of study, each of the authors presents a critical response to the topic of assessment. Their accounts represent the complexity of the subject through a breadth and range of content and perspectives. By expanding the terms of reference regarding assessment, the authors have developed a book with a far richer panorama on assessment as a springboard for inquiry"--|cProvided by publisher. 588 0 Print version record and CIP data provided by publisher; resource not viewed. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Teachers|xTraining of|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85132999|xPhilosophy.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005065 650 0 Teachers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85132964|xConduct of life.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005313 650 7 Teachers|xTraining of|xPhilosophy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1144420 650 7 Teachers|xTraining of.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /1144404 650 7 Teachers|xConduct of life.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1144271 650 7 Teachers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1144248 650 7 Educational evaluation.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/903437 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 DePass, Cecille,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2019058543|eauthor. 700 1 Steel, Sean,|d1972-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2013058006|eauthor. 710 2 Brill Academic Publishers.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /names/n98028814 776 08 |iPrint version:|aKoh, Kim Hong, 1969-|tDeveloping teachers' assessment literacy.|dBoston : Brill |z9789004385658|w(DLC) 2019026335 830 0 Transgressions (Rotterdam, Netherlands)|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2007134519 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=2226590|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
