| Summary |
In 2006, the Mozart22 project took place in honor of the 250 th anniversary of the composer's birth. It was a major project to recreate the twenty-two operas and oratorios composed by Mozart. This documentary goes behind the scenes of the production of Ascanio in Alba at that time. The Salzburg Festival of 2006 gathered the best specialists of the Mozart repertoire - singers, conductors and directors - to interpret this unique selection of works. In Seville, helped by his servant Leporello, Don Giovanni loves to give himself to the art of conquests. He tries again and again to seduce Donna Anna (Don Ottavio's fiancée), Donna Elvira (whom he had already seduced but he doesn't remember) and Zerlina (Masetto's fiancée). Guilty to be Il Commendatore's murderer (Donna Anna's father), unmasked by the fiancés of these young maids, the impulsive seducer has no other choice to express remorse to escape their revenge, but he refuses. After having been visited by Il Commendatore, who gives Don Giovanni an ultimate chance to repent, Don Giovanni is punished, swallowed by the flames of Hell. |
