Summary	Rosemary Candelario, Associate Professor of Dance at Texas Woman's University, introduces the avant-garde, Japanese dance form of butoh. Candelario explores the development of butoh through the work and collaboration of Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno who experimented with aesthetics of darkness, taboo topics and the role of the body in creating meaning in society.
