Summary Annotation With the recent adoption of the Rules of Professional Conduct by the State of New York, attorneys licensed to practice in the State of New York will need access to the most current case law, opinions, and in-depth commentary governing ethical conduct to avoid costly and time consuming disciplinary proceedings. This publication, edited by the New York County Lawyers' Association, includes the complete New York Rules of Professional Conduct, selected state and federal statutes and court rules, a comprehensive index, and a Code-to-Rules correlation table comparing the provisions of the new Rules to their comparable provisions in the prior Code. The New York Rules of Professional Conductprovides in-depth analysis of each ethics rule for real practice as well as a best practices section on how to protect your law license, practice tips, warning and alerts, and other helpful articles. Practitioner- and specialty-oriented commentary addresses issues specific to practice areas. For ease of use, finding aids including a cumulative index, table of rules, table of cases, a bibliography as well as topically-organized annotations of relevant ethics opinions, cases and forms are provided. Cross references compare the recent New York Rules with the past New York Code and current ABA Model Rules. This publication can be purchased as a subscription and is published twice per year.
