Note The 1st work is a suite whose "inspiriation came from a poem by Stéphane Mallarmé (1842-98). The Swedish naturalist Carl von Linné (Linnaeus, 1707-78), the founding father of the botanical system of classification still in use today, had devised a 'flower clock' coressponding to the day and night opening times of different flowers."--Notes, p.
