Summary "I'm not interested in decorative dance. I try to be more direct, to find new ideas of movement. Dance must not try to tell anything, dancing is not speaking. The strength of dance is in its evocation." Philippe Saire Philippe Saire is a Swiss choreographer. He learned contemporary dance in Lausanne before going abroad for various internships. He created the Philippe Saire Company in 1986 and took part in the creation of the current trends in the world of contemporary dance, which he developped in Switzerland. He became famous in his country and abroad thanks to pieces like Torride, Don Quixote, Nouvelles and Etude. He has created eighteen pieces and done more than 650 shows in more than a hundred different cities in the entire world. Philippe Saire's choreographic language is more similar to graphics and to theater in movement. In 1988, he won the award for young creators of the Vaud foundation for artistic promotion and creation. In 1998, he received the ADAMI prize of interpretation and was the Choreographer laureate at the VIème Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales of Bobigny. In 2004, he was awarded by the Schauspielhaus of Zurich the Swiss prize for dance and choreography for his work. Through Swiss producer Kamal Musale's camera, this documentary offers an exclusive portrait of choreographer Philippe Saire and of his life, work and motivations. It thus allows the spectator to discover the often poorly known contemporary scene. Three journalists, Marie-Pierre Genecand, Alexandre Barrelet and Andreas Hoessli explore the choreographer's creative process.
