The models of Victor Turner and Mary Douglas, cultural anthropologists, guide the inquiry. Gordon concludes that the conflict in 1 Corinthians 7 arose as the result of two antithetical views of the root metaphor, 'In Christ all are children of God, no male and female'. One group supported a kinship system based on patrilineal marriage and hierarchical community structures. A second group demanded that an egalitarian sibling relationship should orde. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 14 Paulus (Apostel) 600 17 Paulus (Apostel).|tKorintherbrief (I.) 7.|2swd 630 00 Bible.|pCorinthians, 1st, VII|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2023024620|xCriticism, interpretation, etc.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh99004866 630 00 Bible.|pCorinthians, 1st, VII|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2023024620|xSocial scientific criticism.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2001008647 630 06 Bible.|pCorinthiens, 1re.|nVII|xCritique, interprétation, etc. 630 06 Bible.|pCorinthiens, 1re.|nVII|xCritique sociale. 630 06 Bible|xSociologie. 630 7 Bible.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1356024 630 07 Bible.|pNew Testament|xSociologie.|2ram 630 07 Bible.|pÉpîtres|pPaul|pCorinthiens|p1|xhistoire des événements bibliques.|2ram 650 7 Social scientific criticism of sacred works.|2fast|0https: //id.worldcat.org/fast/2003720 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aGordon, J.
