The search for the presumed traitor was necessitated by the loss of almost all of the CIA's large stable of Soviet intelligence officers working for the United States against their homeland. Aldrich Ames, a long-time acquaintance and co-worker of the authors in the Soviet- East European Division and Counterintelligence Center of CIA, turned out to be that mole. In April 1985 Ames walked in to the Soviet Embassy in Washington, D. C. and volunteered to the KGB, working for the Soviet Union for nine years until his arrest by the FBI in February 1994."- -Provided by publisher. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Ames, Aldrich Hazen,|d1941-|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no94042592 600 17 Ames, Aldrich Hazen,|d1941-|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/348882 610 10 United States.|bCentral Intelligence Agency.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79099301 610 10 United States.|bFederal Bureau of Investigation.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n78095617 610 17 United States.|bCentral Intelligence Agency.|2fast|0https: //id.worldcat.org/fast/536259 610 17 United States.|bFederal Bureau of Investigation.|2fast |0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/528882 650 0 Intelligence officers|zUnited States|vBiography.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2008104315 650 0 Espionage|zUnited States.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2008103314 650 0 Intelligence service|zUnited States.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85067179 650 7 Intelligence officers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /975843 650 7 Espionage.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/915379 650 7 Intelligence service.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 975848 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Biographies.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1919896 655 7 Biographies.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026049 700 1 Vertefeuille, Jeanne,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n2012045325|eauthor. 776 08 |iPrint version:|z9781591143345|z9781591143963 |w(OCoLC)785079499|w(DLC) 2012024310 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=591084|zOnline eBook.
