Summary In this first episode of the Creativity with Bill Moyers series, Maya Angelou returns to her hometown of Stamps, Arkansas, thirty years after she had left it. She recounts her life growing up in the rural, segregated town, and how these experiences shaped and influenced her creative processes as a poet, musician, and as a person. The episode begins with a twelve minute introduction by Bill Moyers to the Creativity series, discussing what the series is about and who will be appearing in later episodes.
