Summary A documentary film about how English organists improvised, discussing the main English organ composers from 1500 to the present day, including Tallis, Byrd, Purcell, Handel, Stanford, Howells, Mathias and Leighton. Organist Ronny Krippner plays organs chosen to present the different styles, including large cathedral organs in Bristol and Liverpool and smaller historical instruments at Little Stanmore and Adlington Hall.
