520 Now as before, Japanese architecture is very popular in Europe and the western world. This publication provides an overview of its many design concepts and cross-references. Using design examples and interviews, the book presents thirteen current positions. The publication focuses on young architects who take up extremely independent positions within Japanese architecture, as well as on Pritzker Prize winners Toyo Ito and Fumihiko Maki. Six essays by European specialists on Japan provide supplementary insights into the aesthetics and space concepts of Japanese architecture, making cross-references to Japan's architectural history, and explaining current lines of development. The book thus combines a self- reflective approach with an outsider's analytical view. 546 In English. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Architecture|zJapan.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85006666 650 0 Architects|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85006565|zJapan|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n78089021-781|vInterviews.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities /subjects/sh99001682 650 7 Architecture.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/813346 650 7 Architects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/813114 651 7 Japan.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204082 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Interviews.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423832 655 7 Interviews.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ genreForms/gf2014026115 700 1 Kohte, Susanne,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ no2003121192|eeditor. 700 1 Adam, Hubertus,|d1965-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/nr2003027646|eeditor. 700 1 Hubert, Daniel|c(Architect),|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2017021398|eeditor. 776 08 |iPrint version:|z9783035607154 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1497170|zOnline eBook.
