Most research related to this question has focused on states that have built nuclear weapons, yet little attention has been devoted to countries that have chosen nuclear restraint. This book analyzes Swedish plans to acquire nuclear weapons during the Cold War. Sweden was very close to putting a bomb together in 1960s but, for a number of reasons illuminated in this book, decision makers abandoned those plans and subsequently rose to become one of the most recognized players in the international game of disarmament. Thanks to the recent declassification of essential documentation in Sweden and United States, it is now possible to assemble a comprehensive analysis of the Swedish nuclear weapons program based on primary sources. 588 0 Online resource; title from PDF title page (EBSCO, viewed May 16, 2016). 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 648 7 20th century|2fast 648 7 1900-1999|2fast 650 0 Nuclear weapons|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85093127|xGovernment policy|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005269|zSweden|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n79021184-781|xHistory|y20th century.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2002006165 650 7 Nuclear weapons|xGovernment policy.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1040980 650 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/958235 650 7 European history.|2bicssc 650 7 History: earliest times to present day.|2bicssc 650 7 HISTORY|xMilitary|xOther.|2bisacsh 650 7 Nuclear weapons.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1040971 650 7 TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING|xMilitary Science.|2bisacsh 651 7 Sweden.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204537 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 776 08 |iPrint version:|aJonter, Thomas, 1957-|tKey to nuclear restraint.|dLondon : Palgrave Macmillan, [2016]|w(DLC) 2016936405 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=1236429|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
