Summary About seventy years after the triumph of the Rossini Otello ossia il Mauro di Venezia, Verdi premieres his own adaptation of the Shakespeare play at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. And in 1887, the milanese public ovationates the new opera. Little by little, the Rossini opus tends to disappear from the great lyrical scenes around the world, and the Verdian Otello becomes the new reference of literary jealousy. At the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, a staging of the love passions, with the set designs of the great Willy Decker.
