Summary |
This musical documentary profiles Pulitzer prize-winning American percussionist-turned-minimalist composer Steve Reich, examining the process and development of Reich's unique rhythmic style, following him as he travels from the Autumn in Normandy festival to Rome (with the Italian musicians of Ars Ludi, the Ready-Made Ensemble, Coro Ha-Kol and Quartetto Prometeo), to Tokyo, to New York, and to Manchester for the world premiere of 2X5, and even capturing the composer on the morning he learns of his having won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in Music for the piece 'Double Sextet.' |
