A growing number of programs and strategies provided by the military and civilian sectors are available to encourage and support psychological resilience to stress for service members and families. Though previous research from the field of psychology delineating the factors that foster psychological resilience is available, there has been no assessment of whether and how well the current military resilience programs are addressing these factors in their activities. Further, little is known about the effectiveness of these programs on developing resilience. To assist the Department of Defense in understanding methodologies that could be useful in promoting resilience among service members and their families, the authors conducted a focused literature review to identify evidence -informed factors for promoting psychological resilience. The study also reviewed a subset of military resilience programs to determine the extent to which they included those evidence-informed factors. This report describes the context, approach, and findings from these research activities. 546 English. 590 JSTOR|bBooks at JSTOR Open Access 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Resilience (Personality trait)|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh86006788 650 0 Psychology, Military.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh85108477 650 7 Resilience (Personality trait)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1095573 650 7 Psychology, Military.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1081605 651 0 United States.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n78095330 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Meredith, Lisa S.,|d1959-|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n92040295 710 1 United States.|bDepartment of Defense.|bOffice of the Secretary of Defense.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n86019386 710 2 Rand Corporation.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n78083407 776 08 |iPrint version:|aMeredith, Lisa S.|tPromoting Psychological Resilience in the U.S. Military.|dSanta Monica : RAND Corporation, ©2011|z9780833050632 830 0 Rand Corporation monograph series ;|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no2008057654|vMG-996-OSD. 856 40 |uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.7249/mg996osd|zOnline ebook.
