Note The 1st work for unspecified instrumentation, performed here in 2 versions: the 1st for solo violin, the 2nd for flute, bass clarinet, trombone, violin, and violoncello, based on Bosnian folksongs transcribed by Bela Bartók; the 3rd work an "acoustic art/radio work" incorporating the voice and songs of Ishi, the last surviving member of the Yahi tribe; the 4th work a solo improvisation for vocalizing violinist.
Performer Malcolm Goldstein, violin (1st-2nd and 4th works), voice (4th work) ; Radu Malfatti, trombone, Philippe Micol, bass clarinet, Philippe Racine, flute, Beat Schneider, violoncello (2nd work).
