It records events from the foundation of the ruling dynasty in 33 CE. This dynasty continued until the abolition of the monarchy and subsequent merger of the state with India in 1949. The Cheitharon Kumpapa Vol. 1 chronicles the history of Manipur from 33 to 1763 CE, and Vol. 2 from 1764 to 1843 CE. This third and final volume continues the discussion until 1891 when the legitimate kingship came to an end as a result of conflict with the British. The three volumes contain an English translation of the work along with a copy of the original Manipuri script (Meetei Mayek). Explanatory notes and a glossary of frequently-used Manipuri terms complement the text. The book will be of interest to researchers on East and South Asia in the fields of history, social anthropology and linguistics. 588 0 Vendor-supplied metadata. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 7 Kings and rulers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 987694 651 0 Manipur (India)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79060976|xHistory|vSources.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2002012008 651 0 Manipur (India)|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n79060976|xKings and rulers|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh00006295|vSources.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2002012007 651 7 India|zManipur.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1205354 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 655 7 Sources.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1423900 700 1 Parratt, Saroj Nalini,|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n80124533|etranslator. 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=611601|zOnline ebook via EBSCO.
