Summary The pianist Brigitte Engerer and the reciter Jean-Yves Clément gather at the Théâtre du Beauvaisis for a Literary concert in which they perform Chopin's Nocturnes accompanied by poetic declamations. On the occasion of the bicentenary of Chopin's birth, the collaboration between Brigitte Engerer -¡a virtuoso pianist and brilliant performer of the Romantic repertoire¡- and Jean Yves Clément -¡writer, postgraduate in Philosophy and artistic director of the festival¡- offers a very sensitive and personal performance of Chopin's Nocturnes. The program is the occasion to discover Jean-Yves Clément's work, Nuits de l'âme, recueil de poèmes d'après les 21 Nocturnes de Frédéric Chopin, in a deep and fine musical context. These poems introduce in an elegant way sumptuous musical moments performed by Brigitte Engerer. Indeed she performs in a powerful and fine way Chopin's Nocturnes. This concert illustrates Stanislas Neuhaus's words: he admired Brigitte Engerer's art of playing for "her Romantic spirit, her breadth, her perfect technique, but also her natural ability to create a link with audiences." This association is a charming tribute to the links between music and Literacy, or between Chopin and George Sand who wrote: "I would like to compose the lyrics and the music at the same time. But this is like the dream we would have of an enchanted island at the moment when the sea is going to swallow you forever."
