Im ostlichen Europa leben in den letzten Jahrzehnten historische Mythen wieder auf: "Volkskultur" oder religiose Traditionen tragen genauso zu einer nationalen Identitatspolitik bei wie jungere Erinnerungsorte, beispielsweise aus dem Kontext Sport oder der Popularkultur. Mit Blick auf Polen, Tschechien, Russland, Bulgarien, Ungarn, Kroatien, die Slowakei sowie die Ukraine ethnografieren die Beitrage des Bandes diese Wiederentdeckung des Nationalen aus kulturwissenschaftlicher Perspektive. Sie beleuchten die Ursachen und Spezifika dieser aktuellen Entwicklungen in den postsozialistischen Landern und gehen den Folgen fur den europaischen Einigungsprozess nach. |
