These improvised memorial assemblages continue to display new and more dynamic ways of representing collective and individual identities and in doing so reveal the steps that shape the national memories of those who struggle to come to terms with traumatic loss. This volume focuses on the hybrid quality of these temporary memorials as both monuments of mourning and as focal points for protest and expression of discontent. The broad range of case studies in this volume include anti-mafia shrines, Theo van Gogh's memorial, September 11th memorials, March 11th shrines in Madrid, and Carlo Giuliani memorials in Genoa. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 Death|xSocial aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2008117503 650 0 Memorialization.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh2004004747 650 0 Social movements|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85123979|xPolitical aspects.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh00005651 650 7 Death|xSocial aspects.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /888680 650 7 Memorialization.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1200580 650 7 Social movements|xPolitical aspects.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1122666 650 7 Social movements.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1122657 650 7 Social movements.|2homoit|0https://homosaurus.org/v3/ homoit0001322 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Margry, P.
