Summary The young Achille, threatened by a prediction that he will die in the Trojan war, has been disguised as a girl and brought up on the island of Scyros with Deidamia, the daughter of King Licomede. Deidamia discovers Achille's true identity and the pair become lovers, but their love is not enough to prevent Achille from leaving to fulfill his glorious destiny.
