Note A "convergence of sound and poetry" influenced by the Arctic landscape and languages of northeastern Alaska; uses natural sounds, drum rhythms, and spoken texts.
The 2nd, 6th and 9th sections are for 4 drummers only; the remaining sections include texts composed of the Gwich'in (Indian) and Iñupiat (Eskimo) names for Arctic places, plants, weather, and seasons, as well as texts in English and Latin.
