Summary |
An exceptional night with a myriad of great musicians, performing chamber music together! Every summer, the Verbier Festival gathers artists of international fame and the rising stars of their instruments. This concert is a perfect example of this tradition: the Verbier Festival invites here Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Yuri Bashmet, Vilde Frang and Daniil Trifonov to perform Dvorak's quintet for piano and strings. Absolute symbol of the Slavic soul, Dvorák approaches a style where the popular influences and folk outlines of his phrases express a particular music. In the Central Europe and in the Czech country, where folk songs are the expression of a social struggle against the oppression, the work of Dvorák resonates strongly between popular music and classical music. |
