Comprised of three acts or intermezzi, it was composed in 1725 to play in between the acts of Der geduldige Socrates. The libretto, authored by one Johann Philipp Praetorius, was based on an operetta plot which Albinoni had set to to music (Astarto) 15 years earlier."--Notes, p. 3.
