Summary
Program #272 : Title: Ghettos and favelas "America's inner cities are at the heart of her racial dilemma. Brazil's "favelas" reveal the acute class distinctions of that society. From these two contrasting realities Ney Dos Santos Oliveira weaves a revealing account of the important differences between two superficially similar phenomena".
Program #674: Title: Canada : the world seen from Ottawa "At the same time Canadian-U.S. relations are flourishing as never before in trade and commercial matters, some diplomatic differences are emerging. Canada opposed but did not obstruct the war in Iraq and has expressed a willingness to contribute to the rebuilding effort. Canadian social legislation also seems more liberal than its American counterpart. Ambassador Michael Kergin explains the implications of these and other developments".
