Summary Program # 814: Title: The toothpaste of immortality. "The modern era is largely defined by the abundance of its production and its myriad consumer products. That abundance also helps define us through the consumer choices we make. In sum, these choices contribute to our self-construction; the personalities that we present to the world each day. Elemer Hankiss explains how this works."--Track sheet.
Program #868: Title: Romania: confronting the past. "In 2006 the people of Romania confronted the legacy of their Communist past. Through the deliberations of a select presidential commission Romanians spent months in intense examination of the crimes, errors and misdeeds of the Communist era. The process was complicated by the fact that many who held power then are still in public life. For this and other reasons the commission's report received a tumultuous welcome when it was unveiled in December 2006. Vladimir Tismaneanu, who headed the commission, describes what happened."--Track sheet.
Commentary #335: "Title: the President and the IC. The importance of quality and timely intelligence cannot be overstated. Former Congressman Lee Hamilton discusses the task at hand for the intelligence community under a new administration."--Track sheet.
