It was a unique event. The clash of two armies, each led by a king, followed a clear challenge to a battle to determine the status of Scotland. As a key point in the Anglo-Scottish wars of the fourteenth century, the battle has been extensively discussed, but Bannockburn was also a pivotal event in the history of the British Isles. This book analyses the road to Bannockburn, the campaign of 1314 and the aftermath of the fight. It demonstrates that in both its context and legacy the battle had a central significance in the shaping of nations and identities in the late Medieval British Isles. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 647 7 Battle of Bannockburn|c(Scotland :|d1314)|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/827161 648 7 1306-1329|2fast 650 0 Bannockburn, Battle of, Scotland, 1314.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85011680 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 History.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1411628 776 08 |iPrint version:|aBrown, Michael, 1965-|tBannockburn. |dEdinburgh : Edinburgh University Press, ©2008 |z0748633324|z9780748633326|w(OCoLC)184821632 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=243593|zOnline eBook.
