There is also a growing body of research on human trafficking, but most of it has focused on trying to show that human trafficking is a problem. Wilson and Dalton explore the extent and characteristics of concrete cases of human trafficking in Columbus and Toledo, Ohio, as well as the awareness of and response to the problem by the justice systems and social service provider communities in the two cities. The authors summarize their content analysis of newspaper accounts as well as key respondent interviews that they conducted with criminal justice officials and social service providers in each site. These identified several cases of juvenile sex trafficking and forced prostitution in Toledo, as well as a smaller trafficking market centered on the forced labor of noncitizens in Columbus. Wilson and Dalton compare the two cities' considerably different responses to human trafficking, and conclude with suggestions on how to raise awareness about human trafficking and improve the responses of the criminal justice system, the juvenile justice system, and social services to the problem. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 590 JSTOR|bBooks at JSTOR Open Access 650 0 Human trafficking|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh2006002629|zOhio.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names /n79049197-781 650 0 Human trafficking|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh2006002629|xGovernment policy|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99005269|zOhio.|0https://id.loc.gov /authorities/names/n79049197-781 650 0 Forced labor|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85050453|xPrevention.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh99002416 650 7 Human trafficking.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1739818 650 7 Government policy.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1353198 650 7 Forced labor.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/931594 651 7 Ohio.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1205075 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Electronic books.|2gtlm 700 1 Dalton, Erin.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2007071806 776 08 |iPrint version:|aWilson, Jeremy M., 1974-|tHuman trafficking in Ohio.|dSanta Monica, CA : Rand, 2007 |z9780833042965|z0833042963|w(DLC) 2007040787 |w(OCoLC)173809049 830 0 Rand Corporation monograph series.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/no2008057654 856 40 |uhttps://www.jstor.org/stable/10.7249/mg689oacp|zOnline ebook.
