Summary This book deals with various aspects of ancient Greek scholarship and grammar. It contains five articles which discuss questions such as the form of the Alexandrian ekdosis on the basis of the relationship between the library artefact on one hand and the text as an object of editing on the other; the study of language within the Hellenistic scholarship; the ideological position adopted by Rome in the age of Augustus in its relations with the Greek world; some specific problems in Apollonius Dyscolus' Peri epirrematon; and the origin of Greek scholiastic corpora.
