The cross-linguistic study of verb constructions and complementation has been dominated by views deriving from English or, for that matter, Latin. The German and Dutch complementation systems, however, feature several important properties that are missing from English but occur in many other languages. Well-known but only partially understood examples. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 650 0 German language|xVerb.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2008105226 650 0 Dutch language|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85040106|xVerb.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects /sh2002006435 650 0 German language|xVerb phrase.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh2008118048 650 0 Dutch language|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85040106|xVerb phrase.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh2002006436 650 7 German language|xVerb.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast /941779 650 7 Dutch language|xVerb.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 899837 650 7 Dutch language.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/899732 650 7 German language|xVerb phrase.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/941780 650 7 Grammar, Comparative and general|xVerb phrase.|2fast |0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/946271 655 4 Electronic books. 700 1 Seuren, Pieter A.
