Sterling Professor and chair of the French Department of Yale University for more than four decades, Peyre was also the author or editor of forty-four books, a brilliant speaker, and a mentor to two generations of students. He left enormous legacies as both teacher and scholar. Peyre also left a large and fascinating body of correspondence. This collection of his letters documents the era in which he lived. His lively letters also bear witness to the vast network of his friends and colleagues, including such major post-war literary figures as Robert Penn Warren, Andre Gide, and Andre Malraux. 588 0 Print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 600 10 Peyre, Henri,|d1901-1988|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n79026888|vCorrespondence.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001488 600 14 Peyre, Henri,|d1901- 600 16 Peyre, Henri,|d1901-|vCorrespondance. 600 17 Peyre, Henri,|d1901-1988.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1754297 650 0 French teachers|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh88001225|zUnited States|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ names/n78095330-781|vCorrespondence.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh99001488 650 0 Critics|zUnited States|vCorrespondence.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009122598 650 7 French teachers.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 934842 650 7 Critics.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/883769 651 7 United States.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/1204155 655 4 Electronic books. 655 7 Correspondence.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 2003288 655 7 Records and correspondence.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org /fast/1423917 655 7 Personal correspondence.|2lcgft|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/genreForms/gf2014026141 655 7 Personal correspondence.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/1919948 700 1 Kneller, John William,|d1916-2009.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/names/n2004039206 700 1 Maurin, Mario.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/ n2004039207 776 08 |iPrint version:|aPeyre, Henri, 1901-|tHenri Peyre.|dNew Haven : Yale University Press, ©2004|w(DLC) 2004042041 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=188120|zOnline eBook.
