"The tune is an arrangement of the Alleluias at the end of Purcell's anthem 'O God, Thou art my God', and was made by Enoch Hawkins in 1841 for Vincent Novello's The psalmist and called 'Belville'. Slight alteration in the harmony was made by Sir Sydney Nicholson who issued the tune as 'Westminster Abbey'"--Cover.
