The refusal, according to Heggy, is due to three constraints, namely: (1) a widespread anti-modernity and anti-integration religious Islamic movement; (2) out-dated educational systems; and (3) unhealthy hatred of the 'other'. He suggests that the systematic rejection of modernity and progress which has resulted from these three constraints is the direct cause for the confrontation between most of the Arabic-speaking peoples. 588 Description based on print version record. 590 eBooks on EBSCOhost|bEBSCO eBook Subscription Academic Collection - North America 648 7 20th century|2fast 648 7 21st century|2fast 648 7 1900-2099|2fast 650 0 National characteristics, Arab.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85089953 650 0 Arabs|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85006349 |xEthnic identity.|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/ subjects/sh00005645 650 0 Ethnopsychology|0https://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/ sh85045425|zArab countries.|0https://id.loc.gov/ authorities/subjects/sh85006278-781 650 7 National characteristics, Arab.|2fast|0https:// id.worldcat.org/fast/1033354 650 7 Arabs|xEthnic identity.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/812583 650 7 Arabs.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/812576 650 7 Ethnopsychology.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 916198 650 7 International relations.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/ fast/977053 651 0 Arab countries|xForeign relations|y20th century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2004014393 651 0 Arab countries|xForeign relations|y21st century.|0https:// id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh2009001021 651 7 Arab countries.|2fast|0https://id.worldcat.org/fast/ 1240128 655 0 Electronic books. 655 4 Electronic books. 776 08 |iPrint version:|aḤajjī, Ṭāriq Aḥmad.|tArab cocoon |z9780853039228|w(DLC) 2010384416|w(OCoLC)434563140 856 40 |uhttps://rider.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http:// search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site& db=nlebk&AN=772119|zOnline eBook.
